The first trip took us to Haviland Lake in Colorado. To access you need only find Rt 550 and drive 18 miles from Durango, turn right at the horse stables and go in about a mile. You are viewing the lake. This is a very busy campground but is quality in both the way it is managed and the scenery that is drop dead gorgeous. It sits about 8000 feet high and is subject to mountain weather, meaning wait five minutes and you will have all four seasons.
The tent is a fine home and does well in three seasons although I'd make them as close to summer as possible. Pictured is the Coleman Air mattress which was new but does not hold air. Our first night was on the ground but cots were obtained for subsequent nights.
More pictures of absolute beauty around us with both thick and thin trees opening to a lake you can see to the bottom of. It is cold as it is spring fed from the mountains.
The trailer is simple and not quite complete at this point. I installed a shelf over the microwave, fridge and sink. There are three electrical outlets, all 110, and can be electrified by either the generator or a power pole. Water can be obtained via city water or uhaul it to the site. Water, once used is considered gray and drained on the ground if permitted. If not I put a simple bucket under the drain pipe and empty it according to rules. The trailer can be slept in if desired as the both cots fit. The tent is larger and we use that in preference or in the event a major storm hits and we want a stronger shelter. It is good to have the option.
